Congratulations to Linda Bates who was one of the recipients to be awarded the Volunteer of the Year award for the County of South Frontenac for 2015 on June 21. Linda is and has been a major force for volunteering in the Verona community. As vice president of the Verona Community Association, she is the backbone for the success of many events that are held in the community. Linda has also been a long time member of the Boy Scout Guild. She participated in the Haiti project over a five-year period, leading the co-ordination of repairs to a school and supplying the students with a multitude of donated educational supplies. Linda was on the committee for the 150 County of Frontenac Celebration managing the set-up of the vendor village in Harrowsmith. She currently sits on the newly formed SALT (seniors and Law Enforcement Together) committee. Congratulation Linda on a well- deserved award.

Prince Charles Public School will have a Dedication Ceremony on Friday, June 24 for the Memorial Tree in Memory of former students Kevin Grant, Jem Rose-Harvey and BJ James at 12:30 pm. Everyone is very welcome.
