Are you looking for that unique Christmas gift? Look no further than the Annual Christmas Craft Sale on Saturday November 7th. Joyce Casement organizes this show every year for local crafters. You will find a wide selection of local, handmade crafts, knitted goods and baked goods. Everything from stocking stuffers to special gifts for loved ones. And bonus, The Portland District & Area Heritage Society will hold their annual Bake sale at this Craft Sale. You can stock up on the Christmas baking. All at the Trinity United Church, 9 am to 2 pm. Free admission.

Drop by the Verona Farmers Market and see The Portland District & Area Heritage Society display for Remembrance Day. Saturday November 7th.

A "Cookie Dough and Muffin Dough Fundraiser" is in full swing. Order your favourite cookie and muffins doughs from a Prince Charles Public School student before November 11 or call the school at 613-374-2003. The class that sells the most cookie and muffin doughs will receive an "Ice Cream Party " on Tuesday, November 17. Proceeds from this fundraiser will help to purchase items for recess activities.

A big Thank-You to Nicky Gowdy and Marilyn Watson for organizing the Halloween party at Prince Charles Public School. The students had a fantastic time with lots of activities from cookie decorating, face painting and pumpkin decorating to guessing games and a Haunted House. Each child went home with a treat bag. Principal, Mr. Girard was very pleased with the outcome and with all the parents and students who volunteered. He said "It was great to see all the smiles on the children's faces".

Come cheer the Frontenac Flyers Junior C hockey team Sunday November 8th at the Frontenac Arena. 7 pm. The visiting team is the Amherstview Jets.

The CFDC will hold a Small Business Workshop "How to Start Your Own Business. Tips and Essentials" on Tuesday, Nov 10. Guest speaker is Mike Gallagher. The workshop will be held at the Frontenac CFDC office, 4917 Highway #38, Harrowsmith from 7 pm to 8:30 pm. Please RSVP to dave@frontenaccfdc.com or call 613-372-1414 by November 6.

Have you marked your calendars? A Free Skating afternoon! Each year as part of the Christmas kick-off, the Verona Community Association organizes a special afternoon of free skating at the North Frontenac Community Arena. The event is tied to the teachers' professional activity day in November, when the elementary students have no classes. This year's date is November 16, 2009 from 12:30 to 2:00pm. Verona's premier car dealer, Revell Ford Mercury, sponsors the free skate.

A Crafts & Conversation Meeting will be held at the Free Methodist Church in Verona on November 11th from 10:00 am until noon. Coffee is provided, please bring your mug. Contact Helga Konecny 613-374-1281
