Winter is finally over and spring is here. Snowmobiles and skates are being packed away and baseball gloves and soccer shoes are being rooted out of closet corners. The ice will soon be gone from Rock Lake and the marshes are starting to stir with newly awakened life. Easter and festivals and summer sports are just a few of the things starting to occupy our thoughts.
Bingo! Join the fun at the annual Easter Ham and Turkey Bingo Night at Prince Charles Public School. On Wednesday March 24th, the doors will open at 6:30 pm and the games start at 7 pm. in the PCPS gymnasium. For more information please contact Nicki Gowdy at 613-374-3610.
Final notice to submit those time honoured recipes and historical anecdotes into the "Find a Doc Cookbook". Nancy Lansdell asks us to submit by March 26th. Nancy is especially looking for recipes in these categories - soups, breads, pickles, salads and dressings. The Frontenac County Minor Softball Association announces 2010 Softball Registration for the Verona and Hartington Area. On Saturday, March 27th. registration will be held at the Princess Anne Centre (Library) in Hartington from 12 pm to 2 pm.. On Saturday, April 3rd, registration will be held at Verona Lions Club, Sand Road from 12:00 pm to 2 pm. For more information please contact Les Moore, 613-374-3129.
The 2010 soccer season is quickly approaching and planning for the upcoming season is well underway. On-line registration is now available. Register early to avoid late fees. Space is limited so avoid disappointment and sign up today! The FSA offers a confidential bursary program for families requiring financial assistance. Leave a message on the soccer hotline (613-530-4250) and an FSA volunteer will contact you.. The Association is also looking for volunteers to come forward at this time so they can make certain that there are enough coaches for each age group. Crafts & Conversations meets Wednesday, March 24th at the Free Methodist Church in Verona at 10:00 am until noon. They encourage each other with projects, learn from each other, and in general have a constructive two hours. Coffee is provided. Please bring your mug
