On behalf of all Verona and area residents, The Verona Community Association congratulates Revell Ford Lincoln for being honoured with Ford Motor Company's 2009 President's Award. The award is based on customer feedback related to their sales and service satisfaction and overall dealership experience. It is a wonderful honour and further evidence of the tremendous support that Revell Ford Lincoln has always provided to Verona and the community. The Revell family and staff of Revell Ford Lincoln are an integral part of Verona and continue to sponsor and support many local events in Verona. Each year they generously sponsor the VCA Free Skate Event and donate to the Verona Cattail Festival. Thank you for being part of Verona!
Are you ready for the "Whale of a Sale" garage sale this Saturday May 29th at the Trinity United Church? Everything from jewellery, books, household items, hardware, light furniture, tools, music and games will be sold. Don't miss out on the bargains. 8 am to 2 pm.
The Local Family Farms Store on Main St. is hosting The Frontenac Cattlemen's Event on Saturday May 29th from 11 am to 4 pm. Visit the live cattle displays. View the 4H display and other Agricultural Booths. Enjoy the 4h BBQ featuring pure 100% beef burgers without filler. The Tri County Horse Club will be giving horse drawn wagon rides around the village.
The official opening of the new pavilion at the Verona Lions Centre will be held on Saturday May 29th at 8:45 am. Everyone is welcome. The pavilion will be named in memory of Donna Clarke. The Verona baseball field on Verona Sand Road will be the location for the following baseball games. Thursday, May 27, Peewee Division, Pittsburg at Verona 6:30 pm. Tuesday June 1, Mite divison, East Storington at Verona 6:30 pm. Tuesday, June 2, T-Ball Harrowsmith 1 at Verona 6:30 pm.
Dust off those dancing shoes and get ready for a swinging night. Dance to the sound of Still Standing. This Dance and silent auction in support of the Frontenac Community Arena will be held Saturday June 5th at the arena from 9 pm to 1 am. Buffet at 11 pm. It promises to be a fun night! Come dressed as Dolly Parton or the Larry the Cable Guy and enter the Look-A-Like Contest. 50/50 draw and a 5 Hole Split Skills competition. An evening of music, food, dancing and games for only $10.00 advance sales or $15.00 at the door. Advance tickets available at the Verona Hardware Store.
Isn't the village looking wonderful? Lots of flowers being planted. Thank you to everyone involved in sprucing up his or her gardens and storefronts and to the many businesses that are selling the flowers.
