This is an exciting year for Municipal Elections. Lots of people vying for a limited number of seats. Your vote is important. You can meet all the candidates and hear their positions on important issues on Friday, October 15th at the Verona Lion's Hall at 7 p.m.

When the time comes to vote, no need to worry about finding a babysitter, finding transportation or heading out into inclement weather. You can vote from the comfort of your own home. The Council of the Township of South Frontenac has decided to use the Telephone/Internet voting method for the 2010 Municipal Election. During the second week in October, all eligible voters who are on the Voters' List will be mailed a Voter Information Letter in a sealed envelope containing a Personal Identification Letter (PIN), a telephone access number and internet address for voting. It will also contain a Help Centre number for assistance and a list of candidates for office. If you do not receive a Voter Information letter by the 15th of October, your name may not be on the Voters' List. You can call the Municipal Office at 613-376-3027 (toll free 1-800-559-5862) or email elections@township.southfrontenac.on.ca.

This is Thanksgiving weekend and a special time for gathering loved ones around us. In all the hustle and bustle of preparing the great feast and catching up on all the gossip, take a few moments and pause. This is the holiday to reflect and think of all that we are thankful for. I will probably embarrass my husband and son when I thank them for being such an important part of my life. However, Thanksgiving only happens once a year - what better time to count our blessings and to give thanks. To all the Frontenac News readers, have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
