Do you have your tickets for the Halloween Dance and Silent Auction? Not only will this be a great evening of fun but it is also the major fundraiser for Christmas For Kids. Help share in Verona's Community Spirit. The dance will be held at the Verona Lion's Club, Saturday, October 23, starting at 8 pm. Last year's event was a sell out. Don't be disappointed. Get your tickets now! $15.00 per person. Tickets available at Verona Hardware.

Trinity United Church is serving up their Pig Roast Supper on Saturday October 23. Enjoy pork right off the spit, baked potatoes, beans, coleslaw, homemade pie and all the trimmings. There will be one 5:30 pm sitting and Take Out is available. Adults $12.00, kids 6 to 12 $ 6.00 and under 6 free. Advance Ticket Reservation 613-374-2442

Bingo! The Verona Lions and the Knights of Columbus (St Patrick Council) will host a Turkey Bingo evening on Monday October 25th, Doors and canteen open at 6 pm. Early Bird Bingo starts at 6:50 pm. 12 regular games and 2 share the wealth. Verona Lions Club, Verona Sand Road. Free parking.

This is your time to vote. From October 18 to October 25th, voting can be done from the convenience of your home. Just a simple phone call or internet process. Let's make this the election that voter response is the highest yet. If you are undecided as to whom to vote for, hear all the candidates at the Verona Lion's Club on Friday, October 15, 7 pm.

Are you curious about invasive species in our area? The South Frontenac Natural Environment Committee is holding a free Nature Talk about "Invasive Species of Southern Ontario" This talk will be presented by Francine Mac Donald who is an Invading Species-Aquatics Biologist with the Federation of Anglers & Hunters. It will be held at St. Paul's United Church, Harrowsmith on Wednesday, Oct 20th from 7 to 9 pm.

Frontenac Community Futures Development Corp. is hosting a Small Business Trade Show. This is your opportunity to see local businesses as they promote their products and services. It will be held Thursday October 21, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Harrowsmith Free Methodist Church in the new gymnasium.

The Frontenac Flyers Atom Rep Team would like to thank the customers of Verona Foodland Grocery Store for their generous donations on October 1 and to owners, Clint and Andrea Reid for allowing the team to set up a donation table outside the store. These donations will help to enable the team to participate in tournaments throughout the year, especially the Bell Capital Cup in Ottawa (the largest tournament in the world) which will be held over Christmas break.

The Quilting Group will meet Wednesday, October 20, at Trinity United Church. 9 am to 12 noon. Anyone interested in quilting is welcome to join the group, whether a seasoned quilter or a beginner. For more information call Ann McDougall at 613 374-2516.
