Verona is awake! After a long, grueling winter we are thrilled to see that the worse is over as we witness leaves and flowers springing forth. And just in time for the Mother's Day weekend - we awoke and packed the Farmers Market as we purchased trees, gifts and consumed mounds of pancakes. Then we flowed over to Main St as we shopped the many diverse shops and bought pies from Trinity United Church. Verona has a strong community spirit and we all look forward to an exciting summer filled with music concerts, jamborees and festivals.
The Verona Cattail Festival wants to make this year's festival a community affair by involving all of Verona's businesses and residents. To help do this, shuttle buses will be running from Friday to Sunday during the festival hours as we shuttle Festival goers from the festival to all points on Main St. in Verona. Businesses are also planning special events to run in conjunction with the festival. This Festival is shaping up to be one of the best ever. Lots of enthusiasm and planning are going into every aspect of the festival. The entertainment committee is lining up some incredible musical talent. The Kids Craft Corner will be available to amuse the kiddies every day and provide free, fun filled crafts. These are just a few of the events being planned. Volunteers are needed to help bring all this excitement into play. Come find out what you can do at the next Verona Cattail Festival meeting, Whether it's a single hour or many that you can offer, it is needed and appreciated. Tuesday, May 17. 7 pm. Verona Lions Hall. For more information call Wayne Conway 613-374-3807.
