Supporting displays illustrate the contribution of women to the war effort. There are also exhibits of tools and other items used on the home front. repair.jpg
REPAIR CAFE is coming to Frontenac. Repair Cafe is a volunteer-run program in which people bring in belongings that need fixing and other people fix them for them. Volunteers consist of people who like to (and can) fix things. Cafes regularly hold workshops on everything from fixing chairs to darning socks. About the only no go is anything with gasoline engines. The re-use aspect of the Repair Cafe is a big benefit. You can get your stuff fixed, and you are keeping things out of landfills. It's free, though we will accept a free-will offering which will be split between BellRock Hall and Repair Cafe organisation. We also hope to get a lot of kids to the workshops. This would be good because we're losing older fixers and this is a way to pass skills on to kids. We are also actively recruiting volunteers who have a skill they could share at this event.
